前篇：清代台灣海關開關啟徵日、安平燈塔新增補遺
一直以來，安平燈塔啟用日始終是謎。無論坊間書籍或紀錄，多採1872啟用，究其來源，實為【遞信志航路標識篇（1928）】所述訪談紀錄，再經海關官方出版物【臺灣之燈塔（1977）】引用，幾已定案。
按海關【Reports on Trade at the Treaty Ports for the year 1881（1882）】，「…, and the end of the year arrangements were made to erect a sixth-order lantern at the top of a mast within the Customs premises at Fort Zelandia」，亦即1881-12-31已安排豎立桅杆，頂端安置六等燈。
按海關【通商各關沿海沿江建置鐙塔鐙船鐙杆警船浮樁總冊（1882）】，「臺灣府臺灣縣安平老砲台距該砲台中小山頂上所有樹木正在前面向海洋約二十五丈之處設有木桅一杆上置六等透鏡白光常明鐙鐙火距水面五丈一尺自東南起經正西正北至正東止俱見鐙光秋冬刮東北風時往來該處之船隻視該鐙自北六十二度東起至北七十三度東止凢測有四拓半五拓水深之地方俱可停泊無虞其春夏刮西南風時視該鐙約在東北方如測有六拓七拓水深之處停泊最宜」。
按【福爾摩沙的洋人家族希士頓的故事（2019）】p189-，1882-01-21安平燈塔點燈。桅杆取自1881-01於打狗港入口觸礁失事的英國籍三桅帆船（船名Ching-too）主桅杆。
另按海關【Reports on Trade at the Ports in China Open by Treaty to Foreign Trade, for the year 1865（1866）】，「…, and as the port of Taiwan-fu was not open to Foreign Trade pervious to the 1st January, 1865」，亦即1865-01-01台灣府開關日。
